This position is based at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you´ll do

Our Electric Drive Unit department, part of Polestar Propulsion, is a department with a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers’ expectations. The department consists of 4 teams, Inverter HW design, EDU Controls, CAE and Verification and Electric Motor and Transmission Mechanical Design team. The area of responsibility spans from requirement brake down and balancing within the EDU department to work with our product and technical roadmaps. You will be part of our Propulsion System Engineering Team and leading our EDU department system engineering work.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Brake down of Propulsion system level requirements to EDU and subsystem / component level
  • Balancing of requirements together with Propulsion system team and within EDU department
  • Ownership for development and content for Product and Technical Roadmaps within EDU area and towards Propulsion system level
  • Responsible to update and maintain our requirement system
  • Secure that our engineering teams and component owners design and work with the correct requirements and targets
  • Be a part of our AE and concept projects to support our technology steps and deliver our roadmap milestones

You are a team player with excellent communication skills and a fast learner. You are energized by working in a creative start-up environment, taking action where you see potential and creating structure where needed.

To be successful in this role we believe you have:

  • M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Data Science or equivalent relevant education
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of electric drive units and automotive propulsion systems
  • Previous experience from work with electric drive units and propulsion drive system analysis
  • Previous experience from work with System Weaver / Car Weaver
  • Knowledge in interfaces between components (Motor, Inverter, transmission) and towards the propulsion and vehicle platform
  • Knowledge within high voltage components and design requirements

Desired skills, not a must:

  • Matlab / Simulink and Vehicle simulation applications
  • Torque distribution and energy efficiency optimizations of propulsion systems
