Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit a Simulation/Analysis Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Principal Engineer – Thermal Systems, you will be responsible for the simulation and analysis of thermal and climate systems within the Vehicle Development team.

The Role

Development of 1D vehicle simulation models covering thermal & cabin climate systems

  • Occasional development of 3D CFD internal flow models of system components
  • Maintain models in accordance with changes to vehicle hardware, operating modes, calibration, and physical test data
  • Preparation of reports and feedback to the technical and project management teams
  • Proactively recommend component, system, and/or calibration changes that improve overall vehicle efficiency
  • Engage cross-functionally with Vehicle Attributes, Thermal & Climate systems, Electric Propulsion, Interiors, Drive Line, Vehicle Calibration, and Electrical groups


  • You will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area with at least 3 years of industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience or understanding in the following areas:
    • Development of complex system models using 1D simulation in Matlab and Simulink/Simscape
    • Correlation of simulation results to component & system physical test data
    • Heat transfer and pressure loss theory
    • Some system control and calibration experience would be an advantage
    • Internal flow using CFD
  • Comfortable with working within tight time frames
  • You will be someone who takes a ‘fresh-eyes’ approach to problem solving and is comfortable with presenting new alternative ideas to the norm
