Business Development & Operations Manager

The role of Business Development Manager for Polestar Spain will act as the lead responsible for the Polestar Strategy and Business Development initiatives in the market. This entails key responsibilities such as managing the execution of the Go to Market planning and execution. As the Business Development Manager, you will work in close collaboration with the Polestar HQ to secure the future business strategies and operations along with long-term development in the areas of the Polestar business focusing on partnerships and business opportunities connected to new mobility, connectivity and services. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Operations of Polestar Spain and in work alliance with the Head of Strategy & Business Development at Polestar HQ. The role is based in Madrid, Spain.

What you'll do

In the first two years, you will manage and coordinate execution of the Go to Market initiative for Spain together with the market, regional and global teams such as deciding on suitable strategies and objectives for the market, managing full lifecycle projects, and leading and engaging project managers including external stakeholders. You will also: 

  • Act as market lead for the Financial Services partner relation and solution implementation
  • Together with the Managing Director secure partnerships in the retail and network category to establish the Polestar Spaces and the overall network set-up
  • Secure implementation and local integration to global digital landscape
  • Business plan and business case development

After this initial two-year period, you will assess business development opportunities in Spain catering to market requirements and securing Polestar's wanted position with target market segments. You will also: 

  • Identify and execute on revenue growth opportunities in new business models and expansion of the existing offers and solutions
  • Identify strategic partnerships and coordinate connected services development (assessment, business case, development etc.)
  • Management of reporting and KPI dashboard


Who you are

As a person you have a ‘can do’ attitude and solid organizational skills including both attention to detail and multi-tasking. You have working experience in communicating to diverse stakeholder groups leveraging effective approaches for communicating information. Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing, and negotiation is strongly preferred. Recent experience to the Automotive industry and the current shift to electrification and digitalization of the value chain is seen as a strong merit.

To be a great fit for this position we believe you have:

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Program Manager or other managerial or management consulting position
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software is a strong advantage
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
