The role of Business Development Manager for Polestar Korea will be responsible for the projects with a focus of Polestar Strategy and Business Development. As the Business Development Manager you will work in close collaboration with the Polestar APAC Region and HQ to secure the future business strategies and operations along with long-term development in the areas of the Polestar business focusing on partnerships and business opportunities connected to new mobility, connectivity and services. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Business Development.

Other tasks you will be accountable for:

Business Development

  • Together with the Head of Business Development act as project lead for the short/long-term market growth plan development
  • Manage and Coordinate execution of the Market Penetration initiative for Korea together with the market, regional and global teams such as:
  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-dependent projects
  • Decide on suitable strategies and objectives for the market
  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle and coordinate cross-project activities
  • Lead and engage project managers including external stakeholders

Network Development

    • Network representation plan rollout according to local market establishment coordination (Market PMO) in accordance with sales growth and profitability
    • Conduct onsite evaluations with qualitative measures: Space Operator Standards, Facility Standard, Mystery shopping
    • Space Partner profitability management
    • Business plan and business case development

Long-term (2+ years)

  • Assess Business Development opportunities in Korea catering to market requirements and securing Polestar’s wanted position with target customer segments
  • Identify and execute on revenue growth opportunities in new business models and expansion of the existing offers and solutions
  • Identify strategic partnerships and coordinate connected services development (assessment, business case, development etc.)
  • Management of reporting and KPI dashboard

Who you are

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Program Manager or other managerial or management consulting position
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software is a strong advantage
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus 

As a person you have ‘can do’ attitude and solid organizational skills including both attention to detail and multi-tasking. You have working experience in communicating to diverse stakeholder groups leveraging effective approaches for communicating information. Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing, and negotiation is strongly preferred. Recent experience to the Automotive industry and the current shift to electrification, servitisation and digitalization of the value chain is seen as a strong merit.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant work experience, strong intellectual capacity and a rock-solid work ethic to the role. This position is at the market HQ in Seoul. Periodically you will travel in market and region as a part of a global team.
