Polestar is currently looking for a number of Digital Leads to join our team in 2022. The Digital Lead (Product Owner) at Polestar owns the vision and the roadmap for a digital product area.


Let us describe the challenge we offer

Polestar’s Digital department is a key enabler of the entire business, leveraging best-of-breed technology to create critical digital products across several domains.

Two of the most customer-facing domains are called Digital Commerce Solutions and Customer Acquisition & Services (CAS) and both have ambitious growth plans in 2022.

CAS delivers digital solutions that enable the acquisition of new customers and provides services to existing customers. The primary goal is to provide a world-class experience in both physical and digital touchpoints. The domain is a key enabler of Polestar's overall strategy as a D2C brand and the increasingly important aftermarket business. Product areas within the area include the website, Sales & CRM tools, Customer Interactions (test drive, Spaces), In-car and Mobile apps and Ownership Experience (charging, service booking).

Digital Commerce Solutions is responsible for the delivery of D2C and B2B digital solutions to be consumed by the different customer journeys for both Retail and Fleet customers. Product areas found within Commerce include Polestar’s Car Configurator tool, Digital Storefront (pre-owned, extras webshop), Checkout, Order & Delivery, as well as Financial Services Partner integrations and the Fleet business.


What you will do

The Digital Lead owns the vision and the roadmap for the digital team and is accountable for planning & execution. They are also accountable for specific business KPIs, and responsible for ensuring capacity demand and supply matching is upheld, on a long-term and sprint-basis. They work closely with their team to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary. Through their understanding of the market/industry, customer needs and their tech-savviness, Digital Leads ask the right questions and thereby steer their team in the right direction. They are also relationship builders, working alongside external and internal stakeholders to support their team in developing their digital products, services and platforms.

Tasks you will be accountable for:

  • Set the vision for the Digital Team, and communicate this effectively to the team members as well as stakeholders outside the team and Digital Product Area
  • Collaborate with e.g., Digital Strategy team (under Deputy CDO/CTO), Head of Domain and DPM, to ensure the overarching Digital vision and solutions align with the team's strategy and requirements
  • Set the end-to-end output strategy, from inception to production, for the team's digital products, services and platforms
  • Set prioritization in terms of capacity, including flagging change in resource needs to DPM
  • Responsible for following up on team-level KPIs and OKRs, and if needed steer the team's direction to meet set KPIs/OKRs
  • Support the DPM in budget-planning for the Digital Product Area

  • Proven track record of performing in a similar role, with demonstrable skills in leading teams toward a product vision in an agile setting
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business
  • Excellent listener and strong communication skills to be able to create trust and convey complex ideas and alternatives to the team and all stakeholders in different areas (such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, IT)
  • Experience with the direct to consumer or B2B sales model
  • Understanding and knowledge of various roles within an automotive organization and how they interact with the digital product offering
